Kittitas County Superior Court
Welcome to the Kittitas County Superior Court. In Washington State the Superior
Court is the court of general jurisdiction, meaning that the court adjudicates
almost all types of controversies including adult felony crimes, civil disputes,
dissolutions and family law matters, juvenile offenders, matters involving
children, real property disputes, and domestic violence issues.In Kittitas
County the superior court is located on the second floor of the courthouse at
205 W 5th, Ellensburg WA 98296. Kittitas County is served by two Superior Court
Judges: the Honorable Michael E. Cooper and the Honorable Scott R. Sparks.
Kittitas County has experienced unprecedented population growth over the past
several years and this trend is expected to continue. This increase in
population has brought an increase in the superior court caseload which
continues to present significant challenges to Kittitas County. The Kittitas
County Superior Court will continue to work cooperatively with justice system
stakeholders in an effort to continue to provide prompt, efficient and quality
judicial services to the citizens of Kittitas County and the State of
Washington.
